5. Loot, Currency, and Crafting

Unlike many ARPGs, Path of Exile doesn’t use gold. Instead, it uses a barter currency system, where items like Chaos Orbs, Orbs of Alchemy, and Orbs of Fusing serve as Path of exile currency both trade currency and crafting materials.

Important loot considerations:

Rare items (yellow) are highly valuable for crafting and trading.

Unique items (brown) offer fixed, often powerful effects.

Magic items (blue) are great for early-game use or crafting bases.

Crafting is essential in PoE 2. You’ll upgrade items using orbs to reroll modifiers, add sockets, or transform item rarity. Learning the basics of crafting can vastly improve your character’s power.

6. Combat and Mechanics

Combat in Path of Exile 2 has been redesigned to feel more impactful and strategic. Animations are smoother, movement skills are refined, and boss fights are more mechanically intense.

Positioning matters: Dodging enemy skills and using cover can mean the difference between life and death.

Mana management: Unlike PoE 1, mana regeneration and resource management are reworked, adding tactical depth.

Cooldowns and POE currency for sale channels: Many abilities now feature charge systems or channeled mechanics, encouraging skill rotation.

It’s no longer just about spam-clicking your strongest skill; it’s about mastering the flow of battle.
